The Good Morning Adoption Fund Inc. Adoption Grant
The Good Morning Adoption Fund offers $5,000 grants (based on the availability
of funds) to prospective adoptive parents who are working through the AdoptionLink
program of Jewish Family Service of Western MA and meet the eligibility
requirements described below.
Eligibility Requirements
- Total gross annual income of applicant(s) less
than $70,000, as reported on the AdoptionLink application.
- Total assets of applicant(s) less
than $250,000 (excluding equity in primary residence and federal income
tax qualified retirement accounts) as reported on the AdoptionLink application.
- Grant applications will not
be accepted from anyone who is related by blood or marriage to any program
manager, officer, or Board Director of The Good Morning Adoption Fund or Jewish
Family Service of Western MA.
- Awards
are limited to one $5,000 grant per applicant(s). If you, or any member
of your household, have previously received a Good Morning Adoption Fund grant,
you are ineligible to reapply.
Grant Determination Process
- If you are beginning the
adoption process, contact the AdoptionLink Program at 1-888-639-3659 to
schedule a confidential orientation and information meeting.
- You must complete the adoption application process
through AdoptionLink to be eligible for a Good Morning Adoption Fund grant.
- AdoptionLink will review
completed applications and based on the review, a determination will be
made by AdoptionLink about your eligibility for a Good Morning Adoption Fund Grant.
- AdoptionLink makes grant recommendations
to The Good Morning Adoption Fund based on the information it has received from
the applicant(s). The final decision as to the award of a grant will be
made by The Good Morning Adoption Fund in the order in which recommendations are
made to it by AdoptionLink. A positive recommendation by AdoptionLink
does not guarantee you a grant by The Good Morning Adoption Fund.
Disbursement Guidelines
- Grants will be disbursed by The
Good Morning Adoption Fund as soon as funds are available for such purpose.
- Good Morning Adoption Fund grants
are disbursed in two equal payments of $2,500. The first payment is awarded
following the successful completion of an adoption home study, as determined
by the Executive Director of Jewish Family Service of Western MA or his/her
designee. The second payment is awarded when the adoption is finalized
(or readopted, in the case of international adoption) in the United States
and a copy of the adoption decree is submitted to AdoptionLink.
Note: If you receive the first $2,500 installment following the successful
completion of the adoption home study and the adoption is not finalized
(or readopted, in the case of international adoption) within one year following
placement you are required to return the $2,500 to The Good Morning Adoption Fund.
